Laura Martinelli is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker. She’s focused on documentary-style videography, and giving organizations a visual voice. She is passionate about working alongside people who advocate for equity in educational spaces, and artists who are committed to their craft.
She founded Ehfar in 2013 and was quickly named New England Ernst & Young Youth Entrepreneur of the Year for her innovative approach to videography. Laura studied at Florence University of the Arts to explore photojournalism, and at the University of Essex to pursue film theory and documentary production. She continues to travel internationally for film and video projects.
Laura also directs and writes narrative films about oddball and isolated characters who explore the human condition through unusual means. A consistent theme of longing for connection permeates Laura’s work, and through film, she offers her own hand, encouraging audiences to emotionally engage with her stories and feel part of something bigger than themselves.
In addition to her work behind the camera, Laura studies acting. She won “Best Actress” at the 2021 New York City Independent Film Festival for Ehfar’s In Colors
